Nonprofit organization Lasagna Love, focused on spreading kindness and feeding families, has expanded to help communities across the world

NATIONWIDE (October 27, 2021) — Today nonprofit organization Lasagna Love announced that it is expanding to both Australia and Canada. The organization, founded at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic by mom Rhiannon Menn, coordinates the delivery of home-cooked meals from volunteers to families in need in their community. Menn began by delivering meals to her neighbors, then word spread, and Lasagna Love was born —initiating a viral movement that gained exponential traction across the nation.

Lasagna Love delivers, on average, 2,500 meals a week and has delivered upwards of 100,000 meals since inception. Volunteers are currently located in all 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and now in 5 Australian regions and 5 Canadian provinces. Families can request meals through an online portal, and they will be contacted by a local volunteer who will coordinate their personal delivery.

“When I heard about the great work Lasagna Love was doing in the U.S., I immediately pictured the impact the organization could have on our communities in Australia,” said Tasmania Regional Director Stacy Klousia. “The Lasagna Love model is great in that it allows people to engage in volunteering even if they work full time, or are a stay-at-home mum or dad. They can do this in their own time and choose their own schedule. I am looking forward to seeing Lasagna Love expand throughout Tasmania and Australia, and I am hoping that businesses, community groups and schools join our volunteering community.”

Since joining I have really been able to reach out and get a true sense of community,” said Canadian Regional Leader Kelsey Witteveen. “I’m so excited to see the initiative grow in Canada. Often we can see the needs of our neighbors, but are unsure how to assist — this is the perfect way.  It fills my heart to see the gratitude across my neighbors, you really do get more than you give.”

“What started as just my daughter and I  has now spread internationally, and we couldn’t be more inspired by our volunteers around the globe,” said Rhiannon Menn, Lasagna Love Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “As we continue to expand into new countries, cultures, and communities, what is clear is that all of  our volunteers speak the same language of kindness. With every delivery we are actively working to weave that kindness back into our everyday lives, eliminate the stigmas associated with asking for help, and support families when they need it the most.”

Lasagna Love is powered by more than 20,000 volunteers across the globe. Anyone is eligible to volunteer to be matched to a family that could use a little extra kindness. To learn more about Lasagna Love and how to be involved, visit www.lasagnalove.org
